DIY Solar Powered Electric Car Kit - 25 mph, 30 mile range!

So have I got this right? You can drive little over an hour on a charge?

If it's solar powered it only works if the sun is out and during the day?

 OR does it charge a battery that last 30 miles of travel? 

How about solar energy homes? Does every thing that requires electricity runs the same way?

I don't quite understand solar energy.

Same with wind power...no wind, no power?
