A calf rescued from a Virginia farm a year ago was fitted with permanent prosthetics to replace back hooves that had to be amputated because of frostbite. The animal may be the only double-amputee calf in the U.S. with prosthetics, according to veterinary officials.

I wonder why they chose to do this verses destroying him for food?
